Does anyone remember the band Sensible was in with his then girlfriend called 'Short Commercial Break'?
The used to come on for a while as The Damned's opening act- mainly when they played secret gigs as The Doomed at places like the Clarendon in Hammersmith (long torn down, sadly). They did adverts that were popular on the telly at the time.
I can only remember two 'songs' they did. One was for a brand of cat food called Meowmix and the other was for Orbit chewing gum that went:
'Get into Orbit
Orbit sugar-free gum
For the coolest taste
A chewing gum ever had
And it's kind to your teeth
And that ain't bad!'
They used to crack me up.

I remember Captain Sensible's first time he sang Happy Talk after it was a hit. It was with The Damned at the Lyceum on a Sunday night long ago.
He was getting his usual dog's abuse (and of course giving it out too) and people were chucking stuff at him as he sang, right up to the bit when it stops and he sang:
'Talk about the boy
Saying to the girl
"Golly baby I'm a lucky
CCCCCCCCCCCCCUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNNTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT"
The song seemed to go down a bit better after that.
